Chiba Jets Funabashi Donates 378 Books, Passing Warmth to the Community

On April 25 and 26, Chiba Jets Funabashi held a Book Share & Drive during the JETS ASSIST DAY against Hiroshima, collecting 378 books donated by fans and delivering them to child‑welfare and mother‑child support facilities across Chiba. Sixty‑three volumes were grabbed on the spot, while the rest were sealed with a donation sticker and sent to five locations.

How Were the Books Distributed?

Fans at the venue selected books as if chasing a rebound, choosing the titles they wanted. The 63 immediate take‑aways were like fast‑break points, while the remaining 315 books were logged as “Book Share.” With sponsorship from Federal Express Japan LLC, the team visited Aoi Tori Home in Funabashi directly, handing over the books alongside local staff. Facility staff reported children reading the books with the same excitement as a three‑point shot swishing through the net.

Why Does This Matter for Chiba Jets Funabashi?

JETS ASSIST operates on three pillars—Community, Total Health, and Environment—with Chiba Jets Funabashi acting as the hub. This book drive improves reading environments, aiming for a mental rebound effect. The team’s on‑court pick‑and‑roll strategy mirrors the collaborative effort with the community to reach a shared goal.

What’s Next?

JETS ASSIST will keep pushing community well‑being actions. The next initiative focuses on environmental stewardship, with a recycling campaign planned around the arena. As fans continue to cheer, Chiba Jets Funabashi will keep making assists off the court.
